HyperTerminal Setup for EnerMatic
HyperTerminal is a terminal emulation program that can be used to control an
EnerMatic system from your MS Windows computer. It comes included with most
Windows computers.
If you don't want to use HyperTerminal, any terminal emulator that supports
VT100 terminals should work, however we are only able to support HyperTerminal here.
Here's a list of the essential settings:

Stop bits: 1

Flow control: None

Line delay: 100 milliseconds

Character delay: 10 milliseconds
If you wish to use HyperTerminal, the following screen shots can be used as a reference.

Start HyperTerminal (usually located in Start menu | Programs | Accessories | Communications).

Create a new connection configuration with HyperTerminal name "Enermatic".

Click "OK".

Select the COM port that will be hooked up to the Enermatic's Terminal Port. The screen shot
shows an example using COM1. Note that if you are using a USB to RS232 dongle or your computer
has multiple COM ports, you may not be using COM1.

Click "OK".

Set the com port parameters exactly as shown in the following screen shot.

Click "OK".

Open the terminal properties (usually menu File | Properties).

Click the Settings tab and set the Enermatic Terminal Properties as shown below.

Click on "ASCII Setup..." button.

Set the ASCII transfer settings as shown below.

Click "OK".

Click "OK".

Save the configuration file (usually menu File | Save).
Note: If you save the config file to the Desktop, it makes starting up HyperTerminal
with the right settings easy (just double click the config file icon).
